What might sound a bit unusual at first, not only tastes good, but also provides plenty of protein and keeps you full for a long time. These simple lentil chocolate pancakes are easy to make, vegan and sugar-free. And what’s better than pancakes with chocolate that are also healthy?

Ingredients

  • 75 g (0,33 cups)lentils
  • 100 ml (3,38 oz) of hot water
  • 25 g (0,23 cups) of oats
  • 75 ml (2,54 oz) oat drink
  • 2 tbsp baking cocoa
  • 1 tbsp agave syrup
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • vanilla extract
  • chocolate chips
  • pinch of salt

Lentil Chocolate Pancakes

  1. Soak 75 g (0,33 cups) of lentils in 100 ml (3,38 oz) of hot water for about 30 minutes until the lentils have absorbed all of the liquid.
  2. Puree the lentils with 75 ml (2,54 oz) of oat drink, 25 g (0,23 cups) of oats, 2 tbsp of baking cocoa, 1 tbsp of agave syrup, 1 tbsp of peanut butter, 1/2 tsp of baking powder, vanilla extract(as desired) and a pinch of salt to form a dough. If the dough is still too bitter, just add a little more sweetness.
  3. Heat some oil or vegan margarine in a pan and add the batter in portions. Place the chocolate chips on the liquid side of the pancakes and fry on both sides.
  4. Serve best with peanut butter and fruits.
